"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1.

What was that first word, that very first word that held the space and then birthed all other sounds and words? Yogis all over the world would probably say that word is ""or "Om." In it's simplest description it is the essence of the supreme. It is the oneness, the all, the word. When spoken aloud the power can be heard. When sung in mantra the power can felt.

When sung in mantra with intention, the power can be seen. My journey with sound began with this sound. I figured that if it worked for so many for thousands of years, then it must have some truth to it. I was blessed to find myself the opportunity to have moments of silence in a room that reverberates. Singing in that room was more than an urge, more than a need. It was something in me that absolutely had to be explored. I began prayers with holding a single vowel, some times, the O sounds in Om, other times different sounds and different vowels. I began to feel my body change. thoughts and worries that once possessed my being left me. They could not remain in such a place where this sound emanated. It is simply not allowed. Where there is a space of pure peace, by definition there is no room for war. That is what I experienced, moments of the absolute. Since then I have learned to align that power, that presence with intention and mindfulness.

In repeating a simple phrase of empowerment again and again, the will of the soul calls forth that which is spoken. The God that is in you, the God that is you changes the universe around Self. That which is called forth by a God is expected to exist. God and Gods deal in truths, that is to say, that which is true is always true. In calling forth a truth, I now expect that truth to be reflected in the world around me. This is the power of intention. In aligning with prime source and speaking, or singing words of truth, deeper more profound truth is revealed to me. In daily practice begin simply. Call forth something you wish to bring into your life. It is important to do it daily. Perhaps it is peace, maybe blessings of wealth or health, whatever it is, find a phrase that feels right to you that aligns to that idea and say it or sing it again and again for a time. At first a minute may seem an eternity, but as the external senses rest, the spirit, that within you will rise.

Overtime, you may call forth exactly what it is you wish to think and feel and it will come. mantra is the power of setting focus, intention, power and feeling into a a channel or idea and expecting it to come forth.
