Fasting Day 24 of 40: Thinking is Creation

I’ve done the following thousands of times: I would be upset with someone and expect a confrontation of some kind and start playing out the argument in my head before it happened. More often then not, a disagreement would take place. I’ve spent days’ worth of my life fighting battles in my mind before they happened, and frequently it was my thoughts that caused them to come about. Our mind is powerful. Where we send a thought, a manifestation within reality will occur. This puts the power of creation in our hands, as we realize that we make the world around us with our beliefs and ideas. We can train ourselves to think and believe the best possible things for ourselves and the world around us. It is then that we truly create our reality.
The physical world is informed by the mental first. It is a projection of an internal reality that experiences time before that manifestation comes true. We can think of picking up a glass of water to drink. From the time the signal has been sent, the brain is already experiencing it. Before the hand has picked up the glass to bring it to our lips. Our dreams act in the same way. The children who dreamed of being Olympians generally become Olympians. They informed their reality daily, experienced it through their training, then experienced it once again as they went through tryouts and onto the main events. It is the power of the mental that any physical reality comes about.
This is not only true for us as individual Beings, but for everything in creation. Because we are more active than the material world, we impart light and meaning, and objects receive them. A book and a table have an awareness, but they are not capable of imparting meaning upon things unless they are first acted upon by us either sitting by it, or picking it up to read. We are all constantly sending and receiving signals, and those signals are informed by our thought patterns.
Should I believe the world is cruel and out to get me, I will experience that as truth, despite any evidence to the contrary. Should I decide that I am blessed and grateful, I will experience that reality. It is our beliefs and imaginings that inform our experience with the stories we read, and hold true for ourselves. One that I have carried for a long time is that things are supposed to be difficult. Time and again I have been thwarted by some of the most mundane things as I have attempted to create. I have tripped up many a time near completion and all because of a belief and thought patterns that things are supposed to be hard. While all growth is based on overcoming challenge, to be constantly on the verge of success and then to fall short is not the natural order, but a misbelief I was holding for myself.
Our moment of empowerment is this, we get to train our thoughts. What we think and say informs our reality. Therefore we should think and speak with intent. Instead of saying and thinking “I have a mental problem,” we can say” I am exploring the importance of clarity.” Instead of ” I am an alcoholic,” We say “I was curious about drugs and alcohol for a time.” All of them are true, and a rephrasing of the reality around us. The first two of having a mental problem or being an alcoholic are limiting beliefs, that will shunt our energy and time from greater growth. The latter are examples of how we can empower our life with thought and word to acknowledge our experience and to seek new outcomes. Any time we find ourselves falling into an old pattern of labeling with our thoughts and words, realize we are affirming a reality we may not want. From there we return to speaking into creation what it is we do want, be that health, wealth, or wisdom.
The more we are able to realize the power of our thoughts, the closer to our truer sense of self we come. Not only are we more empowered and in-tune with our innermost nature, but any thoughts or half truths from others do not affect us in the same way. At this time there is a great amount of fear in the world that is carried upon the backs of misplaced thoughts and fears. By training ourselves to see our own thought patterns, we can see the truth of others’. It is in this place of our own ability that we can then turn to a brother or sister and offer help. Suffering is not the experience of pain, but the thought patterns or beliefs around it. When we are all capable of recognizing our creations in this, we are able to create real and lasting change in our lives.
All The Love,

Fasting Notes:The past few days I have felt like I Am undergoing internal construction and need more rest than usual. I have missed my morning yoga for the first times. This clearing and construction feels tied to my emotional state. There are moments of intense apathy, followed by sorrow and tears, followed once more by Joy. In general I feel pretty neutral, but am excited to be more expressive with my emotions with others. I bask in the sun daily which is one of my treats. The warmth and peace of laying out is incredible.
